Jane Rutter teaches with great experience, authority and empathy. Her love of music engages students via a highly practical, personal approach. Jane has a tremendous sense of the importance of mentorship, having studied flute with Jean-Pierre Rampal and Alain Marion in her formative years in Paris. As an Australian student, Jane was a founding member of The Sydney Youth Orchestra and a disciple of brilliant music pedagogue, Richard Gill. Her passion to pass down valuable traditions in the performance of music and flute, and her musical knowledge, imagination, encouragement, humour and warmth endear her to students of every level and every instrument, in private teaching or in a masterclass situation.–
