Partita for Solo Flute in Four Movements by Jane Rutter

Dedicated to Alain Marion

Jane Rutter’s Partita for Solo Flute is an interesting and diverting flute work, worthy of being a staple in the standard flute repertoire. Drawing some inspiration from J.S.Bach’s Partita for Solo Flute, Miss Rutter displays her gift for composition, individuality, musicianship, and knowledge of the flute. The result is an entirely satisfying piece of flute music. With a duration of nine minutes, the Partita is well suited to flute exams and flute recitals’.
